Obituary: Richard Peter Milne

Milne passed away on July 8 at the age of 87.

Richard Milne, 87, of Cherry Hill passed away on July 8, 2018. Loving husband of Martha L. “Marti’ (nee Counselman) and the late Roberta (nee Smith). Devoted father of Alexis A. Osborn (David) of Collingswood and Ethel M. Harrison (Brett) of Haddonfield. Treasured grandfather of Christine Osborn of Salt Lake City, Utah, Gwendolyn and Charlotte Harrison both of Haddonfield. Dear step-father of Jennifer Buccino (Paul) of Westfield and Paige Rainey (Tricia) of Cherry Hill. Also survived by numerous nephews and nieces that he held dear. Predeceased by his parents and siblings.

Milne was a long-time and active member of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church where he served on the Administration Council and many committees and also served on the Council of Churches at the Methodist Homes. Additionally, he was a volunteer at Collingswood Manor. His 54-year career at Greeley and Hansen as a civil environmental engineer specializing in wastewater management started in Chicago. He and the family moved to New York in 1964 as an associate and then transferred to Philadelphia in 1974, where he remained until his retirement.

Milne’s family will have a memorial service at a future date which will be posted on the Kain-Murphy Funeral Services website, www.kainmurphy.com. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Milne’s memory can be made to the music ministry at Haddonfield United Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
