National Signing Day was a monumental occasion for Camden County High School’s athletes as they officially committed to their future on the field.
A group of determined student-athletes signed their letters of intent this past Wednesday, where they locked in their spots at college programs across the country.
Welton Coffey, the athletic director at Camden County High School, has witnessed firsthand the effort these young athletes put into earning their college scholarships.
Football, in particular, is no easy path, and Coffey knows that each of these signees has faced their unique challenges to reach this point.
The journey to a college scholarship in football involves skill, mental toughness, and discipline on and off the field.
Among the standouts from Camden County High School’s signing day were linebacker/athlete Wayne Austell, who signed with Mars Hill University, and defensive back Jonathan Brown, who committed to LaGrange College.
A mix of talent across positions is taking the next step, including linebacker Ja’Maric Daley and wide receiver/running back Jordan Hardy, who are both set to play at Warner University.
The athletes aren’t heading to smaller, local schools either—they’re signing with well-known programs such as Reinhardt University, Louisiana Tech University, and Kentucky State University.
From star quarterback Carson Stewart, who’s heading to St. Thomas University, to versatile playmaker Mason Zwilling, bound for Monmouth College, these athletes have worked hard to get here.
Wide receiver Kaleb Taylor-Burch, offensive lineman Amare “Biggie” Thomas, and the rest of Camden County’s signees reflect the program’s core values—hard work, dedication, and the drive to succeed.
From the entire Camden County community, we wish them the best as they embark on their college journeys, and we look forward to watching their continued growth as athletes and individuals.
The future is bright for these signees, and the legacy of their hard work will inspire the next generation of athletes to aim high and push forward.
