Deptford emergency personnel were dispatched to a serious crash on southbound Route 55 that resulted in injuries to eight people on Sept. 1.
Station 9-3 Southbound and Duty Engine 911 Northbound were called to the scene at mile marker 56.6 at 11:10 a.m. and discovered that two vehicles with multiple passengers had rolled over. Gloucester County BLS (Basic Life Support) 47 arrived and requested an additional vehicle and a paramedic unit. More personnel then arrived to triage the scene and assist EMS.
The eight people injured were hospitalized, with three in serious condition, but there were no deaths. State police are investigating the crash.
