Paige Worrell, 15, of Mullica Hill, was recently selected as America’s Elegant Miss New Jersey Junior Teen 2022. (AEM) America’s Elegant Miss scholarship program is designed to encourage young women to have a positive self-esteem while promoting community involvement.
AEM is passionate about helping young girls and women build the skills needed to compete in pageants and in life, from building a platform, to modeling, public speaking, interview and beyond.
Worrell is currently a 10th grade student at the Gloucester County Christian School. She is involved in her church and volunteer community events. Worrell’s biggest passion is working to help stop period poverty in the region.
“This should not be an issue in 2022, yet it is,” Worrell said. “Young girls and women rooting through the trash or looking for old rags and shirts to use as pads or re-using old pads, this is so unsanitary. Many will miss work or school due to not having what they need each month.”
“This is the reason why I am working so hard to collect items that are needed, to try and make a difference. No one should go without and feel less than.”
From May 26 to 30, Worrell will travel to Nashville, Tenn. where she will represent N.J. at the national America’s Elegant Miss competition where she hopes to bring the national title home.
