Register for gardeners training

Registration is now open for the 2024 Certified Gardeners Horticultural Training Program, which will run every Tuesday and Thursday morning from Jan. 23 to April 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Camden County Department of Sustainability campus, 508 Lakeland Road in Blackwood. To register, visit Camden County Certified Gardeners | Camden County, NJ

The Camden County Certified Gardeners is an award-winning nonprofit and volunteer organization whose members are trained county residents interested in increasing gardening knowledge and sharing their expertise.

“The horticultural training program brings gardeners from across the county at varying skill levels together to learn directly from professionals,” said County Commissioner Jonathan Young, liaison to the Department of Sustainability.

The 24 educational sessions are taught by college professors and horticultural experts, and classes cover a wide variety of gardening topics, including plant propagation techniques, fruit gardening and house plants.

After completing the course, certified gardeners assist residents through the gardening help line and at local farm markets, special events, plant clinics and county library sessions.

Candidates for the 2024 training can register online and will be contacted to complete the application process.  Residents can call the help line (856) 216-7130 or email at [email protected]
