Rotary takes nominations for awards

The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club is now accepting nominations for its annual to honor exceptional individuals in the community. Categories include:

  • Voorhees Business Person of the Year
  • Voorhees Citizen of the Year
  • Voorhees First Responder of the Year
  • Voorhees Selfless Student of the Year

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, Oct. 25. Winners will be celebrated at a dinner on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Lucien’s Distinguished Catering in Berlin.

To nominate an individual, provide name, daytime phone number and relationship to the nominee, along with a brief description of their contributions and accomplishments.

Eligibility criteria are:

  • Voorhees Citizen of the Year: Must be a Voorhees resident with a significant impact on society.
  • Voorhees Business Person of the Year: Open to any business leader contributing to the Voorhees business community.
  • Voorhees First Responder of the Year: Candidates don’t have to be residents but must primarily serve the Voorhees area.
  • Voorhees Selfless Student of the Year: Open to township high-school students or those attending Eastern High School to recognize acts of kindness and community service.

Proceeds from the awards celebration event will benefit the Rotary’s community service projects. Nominations can be mailed to the Rotary or emailed to [email protected].
