The Camden County Football Team experienced a season of transformation under new head coach Travis Roland, who took over from the iconic Jeff Herron.
Roland’s leadership brought a fresh approach, and the Wildcats closed the season with a respectable 7-4 record, securing the fourth seed in the highly competitive Region 1-6A.
While the team’s playoff journey ended in the first round against North Cobb, the Wildcats still shone brightly, with multiple players earning regional honors.
And this week marks another milestone for Camden County as senior tight end Elyiss Williams prepares to fulfill his lifelong dream.
On Wednesday, Williams will officially sign his Letter of Intent with the University of Georgia, which will cement his place as a future Bulldog.
Williams shared his achievement: “This has always been my goal, and I can’t wait to join the team in Athens.”
In addition to Williams, fellow senior Zachary Taylor is heading to the next level as he signed with the University of Cincinnati.
Though the Wildcats’ season ended earlier than hoped, the team has much to celebrate—from its solid performance during a year of transition to the exciting next steps for its standout seniors.
Under Coach Roland’s leadership, the future of Camden County football looks brighter than ever.
