Veterans from Cherry Hill, Haddonfield to be honored aboard USS New Jersey

Berg, Ochal and Stewart to be lauded by Kane, other County Commissioners this afternoon.

The Camden County Board of County Commissioners will honor 22 veterans by presenting them with the Camden County Military Service Medal during a ceremony aboard the Battleship New Jersey, at 4:30 p.m. today.

“We will be recognizing 22 veterans from multiple branches of the armed forces for their heroism in defense of our country. Our veterans are heroes who deserve our unwavering thanks and support,” said County Commissioner Melinda Kane, Gold Star Mother and liaison to the Camden County Office of Veterans Affairs.

“These veterans and their families made countless, daily sacrifices in order to protect and defend their country. We are forever grateful for their patriotism and service.”

During the ceremony, three veterans from neighboring municipalities will be recognized for their commitment:

Sp5. David M. Berg, Army – Cherry Hill

Sp5. Joseph S. Ochal, Army – Cherry Hill

SK2. Charles H. Stewart, Navy – Haddonfield
