County records 8 deaths, 249 new cases over last three days

The Camden County Department of Health on Monday revealed its count of eight new deaths caused by COVID-19 in Camden County, as well 249 additional cases confirmed between Saturday, Oct. 24, and Monday, Oct. 26. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 12,136 in Camden County today and 575 total fatalities.

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and their victims tonight as we mourn the loss of eight more Camden County residents,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“As countries around the world begin to implement a new round of curfews, restrictions, and partial lockdowns, we have to use this opportunity to reduce the spread of COVID-19 before it’s too late. Please continue to wear a mask whenever you are around others, maintain social distancing whenever possible, and do not attend or host small indoor gatherings. Additionally, one of the most impactful actions you can take right now is to work with our contact tracing team when they call. Our team will not share your personal information with the public or other agencies.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,544 confirmed resident cases and 651 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 12,136 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 341 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 575 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
