The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing two new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 27 additional cases of the disease. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 9,539 in Camden County and 554 total fatalities.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and we are continuing to wish a speedy recovery to everyone who has contracted this disease,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “As we look forward to the fall, we should take stock of everything that we have learned about fighting this pandemic. Wearing a mask is the number one way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Large gatherings, especially indoors where there is little or no mask wearing, are extremely dangerous. Failure to be forthright with contact tracers inhibits our ability to prevent those who have been exposed to coronavirus from exposing others. If we can take these lessons and act on them moving forward, we will be much better off than when this crisis began in the spring.”
The Department of Health is announcing 27 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,344 confirmed resident cases and 537 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 9,539 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 314 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 554 total fatalities countywide.

The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
