The Camden County Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with various health-care providers to provide free vaccinations for uninsured children and those who have Medicaid Part A insurance.

This effort – aimed at preparing children for the upcoming school year – will be available at clinics in multiple schools and community centers through the summer.

Vaccinations available:

  • Ages 4 to 6: Dtap, Polio, MMR
  • Ages 11 and 12: Tdap, Meningococcal
  • Age 16: Meningococcal

“Vaccines are essential for public safety and preventing the spread of diseases,” said Commissioner Virginia Betteridge, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services. “Ensuring every child is vaccinated is crucial for achieving 100% classroom attendance. We are committed to removing insurance barriers to promote the health and wellness of our children.

“We encourage families to take advantage of these clinics to prepare for the school year.”

At the clinics, children will get required vaccinations and have the opportunity to speak with representatives from the Osbourne Family Health Center in Camden for assistance with insurance applications. For children who are behind on their vaccines, the Health Department will schedule appointments to help them catch up at one of the health first care and wellness centers.

“Last year, we received numerous inquiries from families needing vaccinations in late fall,” Betteridge added. “These clinics will help us proactively support parents before the school year begins.”
