Firefighters take part in prevention week

Haddon Township Fire Department 23 is observing Fire Prevention Week from Oct. 8 to 14.

During that time and throughout the entire month, HTFD23 will share essential fire- prevention tips and information with the community. The week marks a nationwide observance that focuses on educating families and individuals about the importance of fire safety and preparedness.

Fire Chief Matt Cardile noted that community safety is his top priority.

“Fire Prevention Week is an opportunity for us to engage with our residents, share vital information, and work together to prevent fires before they start,” he said. “We are proud to serve as a resource for our community, offering guidance and support to ensure that every home is a safe one.”

Throughout the week-long observancem, HTFD23 will be involved in various initiatives to raise awareness of fire safety. They include:

  • Community Outreach: HTFD23 will engage with local schools, community organizations, and residents to provide resources and information.
  • Educational programs: Firefighters will share age-appropriate materials with the elementary schools.
  • A social-media campaign: Social-media sources will share fire prevention tips and resources. 

The department encourages every member of the community to actively participate in Fire Prevention Week by staying informed, reviewing fire-safety plans and taking the necessary steps to protect their homes and families.
