Sustainable South Jersey looking for young climate activists

Sustainable South Jersey looking to reward youth climate activists in South Jersey with the launch of its #FindOurGreta contest.

Drawing inspiration from Swedish teenage Greta Thunberg, who became famous this spring for launching a student movement to compel adults to act on global warming, Sustainable South Jersey is looking to reward youth climate activists in South Jersey with the launch of its #FindOurGreta contest.

The contest is open to everyone 17 years of age and under who resides or attends school in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem or Ocean County.

Nominators should explain in 300 words or less how the young person they are nominating is helping to drive action or raise awareness about climate change.

Sustainable South Jersey will review all entries and chose ten finalists, upon which it will then hold a one-week long public vote to select the winner on its Facebook page.

Nominations for South Jersey’s ‘Greta’ will be accepted from June 26 to Aug. 31 at http://sustainablesouthjersey.org. The winner will be announced in September and receive a $300 Amazon gift card.
