When I was a teenager, I used to watch baseball games almost every day. I didn’t play the sport, but my father’s passion for baseball eventually influenced me to love it as well.
I grew up following Major League Baseball and spent hours discussing it with my friends. But it wasn’t until recently that I got the chance to watch a live game. My friends took me to Dodger Stadium in LA, and it was an experience that will stay with me forever.
The stadium was full of energy, with fans cheering all around. As I entered, I was amazed by the beautiful green field lit up under the stadium lights. I enjoyed the simple pleasures of the game-day atmosphere, like the smell of hot dogs and popcorn and the sound of the crowd.
How to Get to the Dodger Stadium
My friends and I were excited to visit Dodger Stadium but dreaded the thought of Los Angeles traffic. Knowing that parking near the stadium can be a major hassle, often leaving you a mile away from the entrance, we needed a better plan.
We opted for the Dodger Stadium Express, a free bus service from Union Station that only required us to show our game tickets to board. We arrived at the station two hours early, which meant our wait for the bus was relatively short.
After a smooth 20-minute ride, the bus dropped us off behind the center field of the stadium grounds. We were immediately swept up in the excitement, surrounded by fans in Dodgers gear, all ready to enjoy the day.
Trip Around the Stadium
Dodger Stadium is one of the oldest in the league, yet it looks very modern and well-maintained. The stadium has a nostalgic feel, similar to ’60s drive-in movie theaters, with signs in elegant fonts and different shades of blue.
Our seats were in Section 7, incredibly close to the field. Personally, I prefer the top deck, but this spot was still pretty good.
The Top Deck
Fortunately, all ticket holders have access to the top deck. We took some time to explore it before the game began to enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding hills and mountains. The clear weather made everything even more beautiful.
On the top deck, there’s a large Dodgers team store packed with souvenirs. We browsed through the iconic blue jerseys, with fan favorites Ohtani and Kershaw dominating the merchandise.
My Favorite Eats
As with most ballparks, hot dogs – or “Dodger Dogs” – are the most popular food item here. Dodger Dogs are sold at many stands around the stadium, where you can help yourself to ketchup and mustard for toppings.
However, I found Dodger Dogs a bit overpriced at $15. While the price includes a cold can of Coke, the hot dog itself is pretty standard. Other snacks, such as pretzels, cotton candy, and nachos, are also available, but they have similar high price tags.
Game Time at the Dodger Stadium
The game started at 7:00 PM, and the energy in the stadium was unlike anything I’d felt before. It was challenging to have a conversation because the noise from the cheering crowd was overwhelming.
The view from our seats was impressive. We could see the entire field and the surrounding stands packed with fans. As the game progressed, every exciting moment was met with loud cheers and applause, creating an exciting atmosphere that you could feel vibrating through the stands.
The highlight for me was seeing how everyone came together, united by their love of the game.

My Trip to Dodgers Stadium was an Experience Like No Other
The game ended around 10 PM, but the celebration was nowhere near ending. Fans continued chanting “Dodgers!” as if the night would never end. My friends and I took some photos together before heading back to the Dodger Stadium Express.
One of my friends suggested watching another game of the series the next day, but most of us already had plans. Still, I wouldn’t mind coming back for another unforgettable experience with the Dodgers.
Tips and Recommendations for Visiting Dodger Stadium
If you’re planning a trip to Dodger Stadium in downtown LA, here are some tips to make your visit enjoyable:
Arrive early – If possible, get to the stadium hours before the game starts so you have time to tour around. If you plan to use a car, traffic gets worse minutes before the match, so come as early as possible.
Bring sunscreen, hats, and water bottles for day games – The stadium is an open area, so you’ll bake in the sun, especially around 2 PM to 4 PM. So, pack sunscreen, hats, and water bottles to protect against sunburn and dehydration.
Stay a bit longer after the game – The crowd is heavy after the game, and it’s totally a hassle to leave the stadium. I advise you to stay longer (and maybe take more pictures) to pass the time and let the rush subside.
