Voorhees residents will head to the polls Tuesday for the primary election.
Voting will take place at Lion’s Lake Community Center from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters can also cast their ballots early and in person at seven locations in Camden County.
Township committee members and deputy mayors Jason Ravitz and Michelle Nocito are running uncontested. Three seats on the county board of commissioners are up for grabs, with a dozen candidates vying for the spots. Democratic incumbents Jeffrey L. Nash, Al Dyer, and Melinda Kane face challenges from Kyle Irwin, Susan Druckenbrod and Elton Custis.
In the Republican primary, three candidates from the county’s regular Republican party will compete against three members of the real Republicans group.
Two incumbent Democrats, county Sheriff Gilbert “Whip” Wilson and Clerk Joseph Ripa, are stepping down. Democrat Chuck Billingham is running uncontested for sheriff, as is Republican Sean Williams.
For the county clerk position, Rebecca Holloway of the South Jersey Progressive Democrats is competing against Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt, who would resign her seat if she wins both the primary and the general election.
