In accordance with National Poll Worker Recruitment Day on August 23, the Camden County Board of Elections is looking for poll workers for the upcoming election in November.

To be considered for the temporary position, applicants must:

  • Be registered to vote and be a regular voter
  • Work 35 hours per week minimum, overtime paid after 40 hours.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and evening as needed
  • Must be willing to work in warehouse, drive a 16-foot box truck, lift 25 pounds, assist with data entry and post office pickups.

Temporary employees will be paid $15 an hour. Regular hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

“This is a great opportunity for our residents to get involved in their democracy and help perform a critical public service,” said Commissioner Deputy Director Ed McDonnell. “We are always in need of poll workers for Election Day as well as the months leading up to it for several tasks including processing voters who come to the polling place to vote.”

By law, Board workers must be registered to vote, and either be Democrat or Republican. An unaffiliated voter may declare their party and then be eligible to work as a Board worker. Training is mandatory and a Board worker must be recertified every two years. Board workers are paid for each Election Day.  For more information call (856) 401-8683.
