The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 398 new positive cases of COVID-19 and one new COVID-related death which occurred between Tuesday, April 5 and Monday, April 11. Additionally, there were 96 cases detected through antigen testing, bringing the total number of cases to 494. The aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 105,160 and 1,608 total fatalities.
The outcomes from these antigen tests, unlike the results from the polymerase chain reaction, (PCR) are probable positive cases. These daily numbers are added into our aggregated lab tested PCR metrics.
Of the 398 cases, 93 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected from this weekend is 37 years old.

This week’s daily case count has increased, from 47 total cases on Tuesday to 61 on Wednesday, peaking at 101 cases on Thursday, 88 cases on Friday and 197 cases from this past weekend.
“Unfortunately, after a few months of relatively low numbers, we’re seeing an uptick in cases once again,” said Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. “With an increase in daily cases, I need to remind everyone that getting vaccinated is the best way that we can protect ourselves. And for those who have already received two doses, please get your booster shot. That additional dose really does make a difference in the level of protection it offers you. All adults and children ages 12-17 are eligible for booster shots so please, make an appointment for your first or second dose or your booster shot at the Camden County Health Hub by visiting www.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.”
Vaccine hours:
Operational hours at the Camden County Health Hub vaccine clinic run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays. This includes booster shots for ages 12-17.
To date, 411,795 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 361,744 have received two doses and 191,057 have received a third dose. The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Omicron variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
