The Camden County Office of Sustainability and Shared Services is excited to announce that the Certified Gardeners Training Program is set to launch next month.
The program will run from Jan. 12 to May 25 and will be held every Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Classes will be held online and in-person with social distancing mandates in place.
The Certified Gardeners Training Program welcomes both beginner and experienced gardeners who are over 18 and interested in sharing their knowledge with county residents through volunteering and community outreach.
“This program is a great way for gardeners of all experience levels to come together and learn a variety of skills from expert gardeners,” said Commissioner Jon Young, liaison to the Camden County Department of Sustainability. “And after participants have completed training, they will be asked to volunteer through a variety of events, activities and educational sessions.”
The sessions are taught by horticulture industry experts and include such topics as vegetable, flower and fruit gardening, landscaping, lawn care, tree care/pruning, plant pests and diseases and houseplants.
The Gardeners’ headquarters, including a large greenhouse, education garden, and hydroponics is located at the County Office of Sustainability’s Lakeland Complex in Gloucester Township.
