The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 921 new cases between Tuesday, Dec. 14 and Friday Dec. 19 and 728 new positive cases of COVID-19 which occurred between Saturday, Dec. 18 and Monday, Dec. 20, bringing the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 66,950 and 1,383 total fatalities.
Together, there have been 1649 COVID cases in the past week.
Of these new cases, 414 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected from this weekend is 34 years old.

“Although this high number cases are alarming, we can find comfort in knowing that we have vaccines that can help protect us,” said Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Even if you do become sick after being fully vaccinated, your chances of getting severely ill or dying from the virus are much lower than those who have chosen to stay unvaccinated. But now is the time to get your booster, all adults have been eligible for boosters for about a month and last week, Pfizer boosters were authorized for children ages 16 and 17. So please, if you haven’t already, get your booster. To date, 377,113 Camden County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 330,074 are fully vaccinated and 112,769 have received a third dose. The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Delta variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
