The Camden County Department of Health (DOH) is announcing 34 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 940 additional cases of the disease confirmed between Jan. 9 and Jan. 11. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 31,992 in Camden County and 815 total fatalities.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families as we mourn the loss of 34 additional cherished members of our community,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The post-holiday surge is beginning to manifest as expected. Over the last seven days we have averaged more than 319 cases per day, after falling to as few as 251 at the beginning of the month. We have to buckle down and stop the spread of this virus before it increases any further. Remember to wear a mask, minimize gatherings with others, and register for a vaccination appointment as soon as you are eligible.”
The Department of Health is announcing 940 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,099 confirmed resident cases and 1,121 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 31,992 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 423 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 815 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
