The Department of Health (DOH) revealed on Tuesday 10 new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County, as well as 322 additional cases of the disease that have been confirmed since Saturday, May 23. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 6,375 in Camden County today and 304 total fatalities.

“We are extremely saddened by the news of ten additional deaths caused by COVID-19 in Camden County. Even as our total case growth continues to plateau, this underscores the deadly threat that this virus continues to pose. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families who have lost a loved one as well as with everyone who has been diagnosed and is now working toward recovery,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“Over the past week, we have seen several more aspects of our statewide economy resume business, including many here in Camden County. I want to remind everyone to get tested, wear a mask, and continue social distancing even when visiting businesses or places that have been allowed to reopen. The risk of contracting coronavirus is still extremely real, and if allowed, it will spread once again to its previous levels. We can save lives by taking these simple practical steps.”
The Department of Health is announcing 322 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,088 confirmed resident cases and 344 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 6,375 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 227 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as two staff deaths, out of our 304 total fatalities countywide.
The following information is currently available regarding new patients confirmed over the Memorial Day weekend: 122 new cases were reported on Saturday, May 23; 25 new cases reported on Sunday, May 24; 78 new cases logged on Monday, May 25 and 97 more cases reported on Tuesday, May 26.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
