Camden County announces COVID case numbers

County sees daily case count decrease by three, and three fatalities over the past two weeks.

The Camden County Department of Health announced 509 new positive cases of COVID-19 and two new COVID-related deaths which occurred between Wednesday, Sept. 7 to Monday, Sept. 12.

Additionally, there were 129 cases detected through antigen testing, bringing the total number of cases to 638 between Sept. 7 and Sept. 12.

During the week of Tuesday, Sept. 13 to Monday, Sept. 19, the Camden County Department of Health announced 574 new cases of COVID-19 and one new COVID-related death. The aggregate number of confirmed positive cases in Camden County to 124,823 and 1,703 total fatalities.

The outcomes from these antigen tests, unlike the results from the polymerase chain reaction, (PCR) are probable positive cases. These daily numbers are added into our aggregated lab tested PCR metrics.

Of the 509 cases from Sept. 7 to Sept. 12, 110 are among patients under 18 years old.

Of the 574 cases from Sept. 13 to Sept. 19, 150 are among patients under 18 years old. The average age of the newly infected is 38 years old.

The daily case-average for this week is 82.

The Health Hub is now from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can make an appointment at the Camden County Health Hub by visiting www.CamdenCountyVaccine.com.

There will also be no testing on site but test kits will be available for residents to pick up and test at their leisure.

To date, 422,019 Camden County residents have received at least one of the COVID-19 vaccine, 376,422 have received two doses and 249,988 have received a third dose. More information regarding vaccination rates throughout the county and available on the state’s COVID-19 dashboard at covid19.nj.gov.

The county Health Department is continuing to closely track new cases of COVID-19 and information regarding the prevalence of the Omicron variant. New cases are often reassigned to other municipalities over the course of an investigation.
