The Camden County Department of Health on Friday recorded 27 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 49,234 in Camden County today and 1,203 total fatalities.
“Today marks the end of the state’s mask mandate and the start of Memorial Day weekend. If you haven’t been fully vaccinated yet, please remember to continue protecting yourself by wearing a mask and social distancing,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“While recent guidance from the CDC suggests that fully vaccinated persons can safely remove their masks in most situations, that safety doesn’t extend to people who aren’t yet vaccinated. If you haven’t gotten your shot yet, there is no time to waste.”
Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
To date, 472,381 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Camden County. There are 267,069 people with at least one vaccine dose, and 225,248 people who are fully vaccinated.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,362 confirmed resident cases and 1,387 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 49,234 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 462 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,203 total fatalities countywide.
The county Health Department is currently working to trace close contacts of these newest cases. The investigations are still ongoing, and we will update the public with new developments as the information is gathered by our investigators.
