CamCo reports 64 new cases over weekend

The Camden County Department of Health announced on Monday 64 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed between Saturday, Aug. 22, and Monday, Aug. 24. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 9,603 in Camden County today and 554 total fatalities.

“We are far from the end of this fight, but our success at re-flattening the curve after a brief spike in cases should give our community hope,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“Camden County residents have demonstrated that they can do what it takes to stop the spread of this disease. I know that these sacrifices are not easy to make, but I’m proud of this community and the resiliency it continues to show in the face of this pandemic. If we continue to wear masks, social distance, and work with contact tracers, we will win this war.”

Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,358 confirmed resident cases and 547 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 9,603 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 314 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 554 total fatalities countywide.
