CamCo records five deaths, 75 new cases of COVID-19

Camden City, Voorhees, Cherry Hill again among the hardest hit by ongoing coronavirus threat.

The Camden County Department of Health revealed on Monday five (5) new deaths caused by novel coronavirus (COVID-19), as well as 75 additional confirmed cases of the disease. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 2,090 in Camden County today and 85 total fatalities.

The following information is currently available regarding these most recent deaths in Camden County:

Case 1: Female, 80s, Voorhees

Case 2: Female, 90s, Voorhees

Case 3: Male, 80s Voorhees

Case 4: Male, 70s, Cherry Hill

Case 5: Female, 90s, Cherry Hill 

“We know that we still have a long way to go in this fight, and it does not get any easier to announce new cases or deaths as we continue to get through this pandemic. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who have lost a loved one, as well as those who have contracted the virus,” said Freeholder Louis Cappelli, Jr.

“The Board continues to work with our partners in both the public and private sectors to expand testing access throughout the county. The more tests we can administer, the better an understanding we will develop of how this virus is spreading and who is being affected. That knowledge, combined with social distancing and other tools at our disposal, will be critical in our fight against this insidious virus moving forward.”
