Burlington Township 10U Baseball enjoy trip of a lifetime
The Burlington Township Falcons 10U baseball team had a summer to remember. After clinching the Mid-Atlantic Championship in July, the Falcons became the first team in the town’s history to make it to the Cal Ripken World Series. Joining nine other teams from the United States in Hammond, Ind., the Falcons began their quest for a 10U World Series title on Aug. 5.
Back to School right around the corner in Burlington Township
The countdown has begun … yes, the countdown to another school year in Burlington Township. The Burlington Township School District begins classes on Sept. 7 with a full day for all students. The district’s plan for 2017–2018 includes instructional initiatives using adaptive assessments, analyzing achievement data, increasing inclusivity and strategic planning. The plan also includes initiatives to address climate and well-being.
Vouchers Still Available for New Jersey Senior Farmer’s Market Program
The program is a joint effort between the USDA and the NJ Department of Agriculture that provides low income seniors with $25 in voucher form to purchase New Jersey farmers locally grown produce. “The Burlington County Office on Aging still has vouchers available to eligible seniors,” said Freeholder Hughes. “The vouchers, which can be redeemed until November 30, 2017, provide a nutritional benefit to seniors in order to enhance their diets and to bring awareness and an opportunity to expand the sales of locally grown produce.”
Cannoli Theater at Burlington County Library on Aug. 22
The Library’s very own “Kids Theater Program” will present an original play written and directed by Ms. Megan of Top Cat Productions. The show will take place on August 22 at 6:30 p.m. Here is some background on the show. Tony Cannoli wants to close down the Community Theatre, much to the dismay of the group of kids who have been rehearsing all summer. As the kids prepare for their last show and perform their dream roles — will Tony have a change of heart?
