According to the Mt. Laurel Fire Department’s Facebook page, at 10:23 am, companies were dispatched to a fire in a town home in the Birchfield development. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the roof-line with fire in the attic. The fire department was able to contain the fire to the affected unit and prevent it from spreading to the adjacent units. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was a failure of the ventilation fan in a second floor bathroom. Moorestown, Evesham and Maple Shade also responded to the fire, the report says.
