Leaving a footprint for South Jersey’s youth

It’s never too early to get a running start. At least that is the mindset of Cinnaminson community organizer Lauren Leight, who wants to get even 2- to 3-year-olds on their feet this fall for The Healthy Kids Running Series. The Healthy Kids Running Series, a nonprofit originating in Pennsylvania, has helped many towns nationwide dust off their running shoes. The series, held twice a year, once in the spring and fall, accommodates kids from all age demographics. Children from Pre-K to eighth grade are invited to run in the race most appropriate for their age group.

Burlington Township Police Department: Weekly Police Reports

A three month-long investigation has resulted in the Burlington Township Police Department charging two suspects for committing an armed robbery at the Speedy Gas Station located at 2212 Mount Holly Road Burlington, NJ. The investigation began on April 22, when the department received delayed notification of the robbery that occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on April 19. The initial investigation revealed that the gas station attendant was robbed of cash at gun-point and that the two suspects fled the scene in a red Chevrolet Equinox.

Heroes for a week: Burlington Twp. youth learn how to save the day

What does it mean to be a hero? The participants of the third annual Burlington Township Emergency Services Youth Academy may have discovered the answer. Branches of those serving in public service positions united to give Burlington Township’s youth a taste of what it is like to keep the community safe. For the third year in a row, the academy has provided a week-long course, exposing the ins-and-outs of life as a firefighter, EMS worker and police officer.
