Weekly Roundup: New tenants for Renaissance Square, LRHSD passes drone policy

New tenants have been announced for Evesham’s Shoppes at Renaissance Square shopping center, the Lenape Regional High School District BOE has approved a drone policy and a Marlton resident was charged with assaulting police during an accident investigation. New tenants announced for Evesham’s Shoppes at Renaissance Square shopping center

Officials gathered inside the former hollowed out H&R Block office located at the center of Evesham’s Shoppes at Renaissance Square on Feb. 15 to announce several new tenants for the shopping center. Virtua healthcare system plans to take over a more than 30,000 square foot space. Additional tenants such as LaScala’s Italian Restaurant, La Vez Mexican Restaurant, Gaetano’s Pizzeria and Steaks, a nail salon, a hair salon, a freestanding Dunkin Donuts site and a cellular provider Birdoff said he could not yet name.

Marlton resident charged with assaulting police, drug possession during accident investigation

On Feb. 13, Evesham Police responded to a two vehicle accident on Greentree Road by Stow Road. Police say that while arresting a female driver and Marlton resident, she became combative, kicking one officer and spitting on another officer. Following the arrest of the female, police say officers located crack cocaine and heroin during a subsequent search of her vehicle.

Lenape Regional High School District BOE approves drone policy

The Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education approved a policy on Feb. 15 to guide the operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), popularly known as drones. District officials said the policy was keeping with the district’s commitment to provide students and staff with “cutting-edge” educational opportunities in a safe and secure environment.

Burlington County announces applications open for adoption of puppies from closed Puppy Barn

Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio has announced that the Burlington County Animal Shelter will be accepting applications from those interested in adopting the recently surrendered Puppy Barn puppies. Applications will be accepted until Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 5 p.m.

Lenape Regional District sees slight decrease in recent Violence, Vandalism and HIB reports

From July 1 through Dec. 31, the Lenape Regional High School District saw a slight decrease in incidents of violence, vandalism, weapons, substance abuse and harassment, intimidation and bullying when compared to the same time period for the previous year. The LRHSD Board of Education reviewed the district’s latest statistics at its latest meeting, per state requirements.
