Cherry Hill resident named chairman of the Camden County Republican Committee

Richard Ambrosino Jr. was elected as the new chairman during a Feb. 8 vote.

Cherry Hill’s Richard Ambrosino Jr. is the new chairman of the Camden County Republican Committee after the committee held a vote on Feb. 8.

Ambrosino was elected to fill the unexpired term of former chairman Thomas Booth Jr. Booth resigned on Jan. 10 after being confirmed for a seat on the bench of the Superior Court of Camden County, a term that will extend to June of 2018.

“I’m honored that the members of the Committee have put their faith in me,” Ambrosino said. “I look forward to working with our entire organization to continue to build on the vibrant and successful Republican presence in Camden County that our former Chairman was so instrumental in creating.”

Ambrosino is currently the managing partner of 1868 Public Affairs, a Trenton-based government affairs firm. He has been a member of the Camden County Republican Committee since 1989, served eight years as chairman of the Cherry Hill Republican Organization and was treasurer of the county organization for 14 years.

He served as Senior Deputy Communications Director in the Office of Governor Christie Whitman from 1998 to 2001, was Deputy Campaign Manager of her 1997 re-election campaign and served as Political Director of the New Jersey Republican State Committee from 1995 to 1997.

The Camden County Republican Committee also elected Lisa DeAugustine of Voorhees as its new Treasurer on Wednesday evening.
