The Camden County Department of Health on Thursday announced 48 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 7,240 in the county as of today and 352 total fatalities.
“New Jersey and its residents took this threat extremely seriously from day one, and it is largely because of their sacrifices that we are continuing to see a decline in new cases,” said Freeholder Louis Cappelli, Jr.
“What is happening in other states underscores the dangerous reality of this virus. If we take our eye off the ball for even a few days we could see spread increase exponentially. That’s why we have to continue social distancing, wear a mask when you are in public, stay home if you’re sick, and take this virus seriously. If we keep up guard up and follow the advice of our public health experts we can stop the spread of coronavirus.”
Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,234 confirmed resident cases and 453 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 7,240 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 276 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 352 total fatalities countywide.
