Camden County Police Officer’s Home Destroyed by Fire

A devastating fire has destroyed the home of Camden County Police Officer Salomon Andre and his fiancée, Dajshia Gibson, in Clementon, New Jersey, just days before Christmas.

The fire, which broke out on December 16, engulfed the Kingswood Place house and destroyed nearly everything inside.

Officer Andre was on patrol when the fire started, and fortunately, his fiancée and their newborn son, Kailo, were away at the time.

Their dog, Dash, was rescued by several nearby fire departments after being trapped upstairs in his crate.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but Andre says that when he arrived at the scene, all he had left was the uniform on his back.

The family’s home had only recently become their own, having moved in months earlier, in August, just before the birth of their son.

The tragedy has been met with an outpouring of support from the local community.

Neighbors and residents have donated toys, clothes, and food as the family begins the search for long-term housing.

“It just shows that I’m not by myself,” Andre said, expressing gratitude for the kindness shown to them during this challenging time.

The Camden County Police Union has also stepped in, donating $1,000 to help the family purchase essentials lost in the fire.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign to help with the family’s rebuilding efforts has raised over $7,100 of its $20,000 goal.

“We’re grateful for that. We still got the spirit,” Andre said, despite the overwhelming situation.

As they navigate this difficult period, the family focuses on the positive.

With the support of their community, they are beginning to rebuild their lives after this heartbreaking loss.
