Toner, Austin to lead Palmyra school board in 2024

The Palmyra Board of Education reorganized with familiar faces on Jan. 3, as Sean Toner, Judy Belton and Jennifer Mosgrove were sworn in to three-year terms.

Toner has served on the board for eight years and begins his third term. Belton begins her third term, and Mossgrove, who has served on the board since last January, begins her first. Toner was also elected to serve another term as board president and Amy Austin was named vice president.

After a closed session, a number of board appointments were announced:

  • Delegate to the Burlington County School Boards Association: Erica Campbell and alternate Erika Celley
  • Delegate to the New Jersey School Boards Association: Judy Belton and alternate Erika Celley
  • Borough council liaison: A rotation of board members in alphabetical order will attend meetings through the year.
  • Finance and Physical Plant: Amy Austin
  • Human Resources: James Dickinson
  • Policy and Curriculum: Erica Campbell
  • Strategic Planning: Kate Allen-Yoakum

The board adopted its meeting schedule for 2024, including its next session at 7 p.m. tonight in the gymnasium at Charles Street School.
