Berlin Fall Fest returns October 14

Volunteers for county park event play an important role

One of Berlin’s most popular fall traditions will return for its 12th year on  Saturday, Oct. 14.

The fall festival – sponsored by the Greater Berlin Business and Professional Association – is a signature event in the borough that features vendors,  kid-friendly activities and entertainment for all ages.

The festival will take place at the Berlin Borough county park, with PHL17’s Tony Romeo as emcee. Park Drive and Broad Avenue will be available for the festival’s sponsors, crafters, businesses and organizations, vendors and beer garden.

Co-chair Betty Vellie said confirmed food trucks include Brotherly Love Cheesesteak Spring Rolls, Just Fork It, Jeremiah’s, Mannino’s Cannolis and Cousin’s Maine Lobster, among others.

“As soon as the food fest was over (last year), some of the vendors and crafters were already asking if they could come back for this year’s event,” Vellie said proudly.

This year’s festival will involve volunteers who can help with planning, soliciting vendors and other duties related to the event, and who will get complimentary spaces for their businesses.

The Greater Berlin Business and Professional Association will also support two events next month: the expansion of Ollie Gator’s Pub on Thursday, June 22, and the grand opening of Monaco Indoor Karting on Monday, June 26. At the latter’s ribbon cutting, owner Giovanni Visceglia will offer 100 free rides, facility tours and video games.

“This is a great networking opportunity, so bring your business cards to hand out,” Vallie advised of the two gatherings. “Potential new (association) members and the general public are invited.”

RSVPs for the two events are due by Monday, June 19. Cost of $20 a person includes one drink and access to a buffet.
