Deptford Township Council met for its regular monthly session on Sept. 13, and without much old business, focused on current resolutions.
Deptford Signarama received authorization for the creation and installation of custom signs, Arawak Paving Company received approval for parking lot improvements in recreational areas, and All Season Landscaping Co. received an award of agreement for landscaping renovations in Tanyard Acres.
Financial resolutions also were accounted for and resolved, including the refund process for CoreLogic Tax Service, Foundation Title, LLC and Lereta, LLC Tax Service for overpayment of taxes. Resolutions were also presented on refunding to disabled veterans payments of real-estate taxes and the overbill of taxes on several blocks and lots throughout the township.
A collective negotiations agreement was approved between the township and New Jersey State PBA Local 122-Deptford Unit. Another resolution was approved that included the Superior Officers Association to that agreement.
Two collective-bargaining agreements were addressed and approved by the council. The first is between the township and AFL-CIO Local 676 Police Records clerks and clerical employees, and the second between the township and Teamsters Local 676 Public Work to benefit parks and facility-maintenance employees.
The last resolution made was to Nipper’s Pub, which was granted an active plenary retail consumption license, authorizing person-to-person transfer.
Mayor Paul Medany encouraged residents to attend the Mayor’s 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1-Mile Fun Run. The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, at Fasola Park starting at 8 a.m. The event is expected to last approximately three hours, and no registration is required.
The council regular meeting date for next month is to be determined, but a work session is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m.
