GCIT to host Food Festival on Nov. 1

The event will be hosting several student-run competitive events including cake decorating, cupcake decorating and luncheon showcase

The Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) is hosting its 4th annual Food Festival at GCIT on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. GCIT’s Culinary Arts Department and Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) will be hosting several student-run competitive events including cake decorating, cupcake decorating and luncheon showcase.

Students will also compete in a food truck contest, which allows culinary student teams to design a food truck and create great food to go with it. For the second year, teachers are showcasing their culinary skills in their own food truck competition. There will be restaurants from all over the southern New Jersey area and also gift baskets to bid on.

In addition, ticketholders can also sample local food vendors who will be showcasing their favorite new menu items. There will also be a gift basket auction. Participating Gloucester County restaurants include:

  • Hearthside
  • Ry’s Bagels
  • Tacconelli’s Pizzeria
  • Blue Plate
  • Arctic Wolf Water
  • Carolina Blue
  • Liscio’s Bakery
  • The Gentle Giant Cafe
  • ShopRite
