The Mt. Laurel Township Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles when leaving their vehicle unattended.
The warning comes after a recent string of thefts that the department says took place on June 3 in the area of Brookwood Road, Glen Forest Road, Byron Drive, Broadacre Drive and Cemetery Lane.
According to police, there were numerous thefts from motor vehicles reported in those areas, and in all incidents, police say the vehicles were left unlocked and vehicles had key fobs left inside.
Police say the MLPD Detective Bureau is investigating all of these cases, which police believe to be related.
With that in mind, the department is also asking residents to remember to remove valuables and keys from their vehicles when leaving them unattended.
The department also reminds residents to never leave their cars running unattended and to park in well-lit areas, if possible.
If a resident is ever a victim of a theft or believes they have spotted suspicious activity, police ask those residents to contact the department immediately.
To contact the department through the 24-hour non-emergency dispatch number, call (856) 234-8300.
