Pedestrian struck, killed crossing Mount Holly Road

Brenda McNeil, 23, was pronounced dead at Capital Health Regional Medical Center on Saturday

Burlington Township Police Department responded to the area of Mount Holly Road (Rt. 541) and Elbow Lane Nov. 18 for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Officers discovered that Brenda N. McNeil, a 23-year-old female from Mt. Laurel, NJ, was crossing the southbound lanes of Mount Holly Road when she was struck by a 2017 Lexus RX 350. McNeil suffered significant injuries and was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle that struck McNeil remained on scene and cooperated with investigating officers.

Portions of southbound Mount Holly Road and the Route 295 exit ramps for southbound Mount Holly Road were shut down while officers conducted their investigation.

This collision is still under investigation by members of the Burlington Township Police Department Traffic Safety Un it and the Burlington Township Police Department Investigations Bureau. No charges have been issued at this time.
