The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:
On July 24 at 2 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle tailgating another vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73, inside the departmentās Data Driven Approach to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS)Ā Zone.
During the stop, police say the officer developed suspicion that narcotics were hidden inside the vehicle. According to police, a subsequent search of the vehicle by officers resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, ecstasy, LSD, cocaine and marijuana inside theĀ vehicle.
Arrested:
A male, age 24, of Philadelphia, was charged with third-degree possession of methamphetamine, third-degree possession of LSD, third- degree possession of cocaine and a disorderly persons offense for possession of marijuana. He was release on his own recognizance.
According to police, DDACTS integrates location-based crime and traffic data to establish effective and efficient methods for deploying law enforcement and other resources. Using geo-mapping to identify areas that have high incidences of crime and crashes, police say DDACTS uses traffic enforcement strategies that play a dual role in fighting crime and reducing crashes and traffic violations.
Drawing on the deterrent of highly visible traffic enforcement and the knowledge that crime often involves the use of motor vehicles, police say the goal of DDACTS is to reduce the incidence of crime, crashes, and traffic violations in Evesham Township.
