Berlin woman pleads guilty to armed robbery at township gas station

Natashia N. Johnson was sentenced to five years in state prison

The following information was provided by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office:

Natashia N. Johnson, 33, of Berlin was sentenced on Monday, July 31, to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to participating with two others in an April 23, 2015 armed robbery of a Washington Township gas station.

In the holdup, a male held a handgun on a station attendant at the Gastrol station on the Black Horse Pike while a female took cash and cigarettes. They fled in a car.

An investigation by the Washington Township Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office determined Johnson was a suspect in the robbery. She was arrested April 30, 2015. She pleaded guilty to second-degree armed robbery on July 10. Incarcerated since her arrest, she was sentenced Monday by Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith.

A codefendant, Samuel Tolbert, 37, of West Berlin was charged at the same time as Johnson. He was returned on a parole violation to state prison where he had served time on an aggravated manslaughter conviction in Camden County. He pleaded guilty to first-degree armed robbery on June 19 and is scheduled for sentencing Oct. 2.

Codefendant Geana M. Carr, 30, of Haddon Township, believed to be the driver of the getaway car, has been admitted to drug court.
