Several thousand residents enjoyed National Night Out festivities at Washington Lake Park on Aug. 6. It was the township’s largest night out yet, according to Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik, despite the threat of rain. National Night Out has been celebrated on the first Tuesday in August since 1984 to improve relationships between officers and residents.
