Unofficial results show that 86 residents voted to approve the budget
On Saturday, Feb. 18, Burlington Township residents voted to approve Fire District №1’s proposed budget for 2017.
Unofficial election results show that 86 voters voted to pass the budget, while 36 voted against it. Incumbent fire commissioner Deborah Painter was re-elected for a three-year term with 96 votes.
The total proposed budget is $3,161,671. The total amount to be raised through taxes is $1,948,000, an increase of $68,000 from last year’s budget.
The average homeowner with an average assessed home value of $228,800 would see a tax increase of $7, from $194 to $201 per year.
