This week students at Evans Elementary held a Martin Luther King Jr. Day service event and the Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education learned about what students and staff having been doing with their free time from their new bell schedule. Evans Elementary holds day of service to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

This week the students and families of Evans Elementary School held a day of service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Whether it was creating chew toys for local animal shelters, making hats and headbands for kids who lost their hair due to medical treatments, writing cards for senior citizens or even assembling treat bags for chemotherapy patients, those at Evans were able to spend their afternoon helping others.

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice annual fundraiser gala to be held Feb. 11

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice recently announced that the non-profit organization’s annual gala, “Hearts of Gold,” is set for Feb. 11 at The Crowne Plaza, Cherry Hill. The event raises money for the non-profit, and during the gala Samaritan will also hold a drawing to determine the winners of Samaritan’s “Delightful Dining Raffle,” where two people each receive 12 $100 gift certificates to area restaurants.

Marlton Rotary’s annual pancake breakfast fundraiser set for Feb. 25

The Marlton Rotary’s annual pancake breakfast fundraiser has been announced for Saturday, Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Marlton Field House, 785 East Main Street. Event proceeds will benefit Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey, The Evesham Fire-Rescue and Rotary youth leadership awards and scholarships.

Evesham School District again offering a tuition-based full-day kindergarten program and tuition-based preschool integrated program

The Evesham Township School District is once again offering a tuition-based full-day kindergarten program and tuition-based preschool integrated program. There will be two half-day preschool inclusion classes for 4 year olds, and two half-day sessions for 3 year olds. A full-day kindergarten session will be offered at all six elementary schools. A minimum of 15 students per classroom is required in order for a session to be implemented.

Lenape Regional BOE sees additional time from new bell schedule benefit students and staff

Lenape Regional High School District Superintendent Carol Birnbohm used the latest LRHSD BOE meeting to detail ways students and staff have been using additional free time granted from their new bell schedule during common planning time and community lunch and learn. Birnbohm said students and staff have been able to learn more and get more done.
