South Jersey’s Barsky family has had a long history with Jefferson Health in New Jersey. The late Dr. Paul Barsky played an integral part in the planning, construction and 1972 opening of Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, which was part of the then-Kennedy Health System for many years. His son, Dr. Robert Barsky, a Jefferson Health — New Jersey physician and longtime board member, has shown support for the health care organization’s continual growth and progress over more than three decades.

Now, the Barsky family name is forever imprinted within the hospital with the dedication of “The Barsky Family Surgical Suite” at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital. The naming recognizes the generosity of Dr. Barsky and his wife, Nancy, who together contributed $100,000 to the Kennedy Health Care Foundation to support the mission of Jefferson Health in New Jersey.

“Rob Barsky has been a champion for this organization — and for all of you — for many years,” said Joe Devine, President of Jefferson Health — New Jersey. “This is a special honor to recognize Dr. Barsky and his family, especially for the generous contribution he is making toward this surgical suite.”

Michelle Gollapalli, VP of Development and Executive Director of the Kennedy Health Care Foundation, added that the generosity of donors like Dr. Barsky helps ensure the finest in patient care: “This family is certainly a very strong reminder of just what good quality clinicians can be,” Gollapalli said.
