The Voorhees Girls Softball Association is now accepting applicants for the 2018 spring registration.
The early registration fee is $105. The registration fee after Feb. 18 is $140.
Intramural Division:
The Pee Wee division is accepting players ages 5 through kindergarten-aged. This is an instructional division that emphasizes fun while teaching fundamentals. At this level, girls are introduced to the game of softball. They learn basic skills like fielding, throwing, and hitting — both from a tee and from coaches pitching.
The Ponytail division is accepting players in first to third grade. This division is still instructional, but games are played using small teams and modified rules — smaller teams will allow more fielding practice and more at-bats. Girls start hitting from a tee at first, and quickly hit live pitches thrown by coaches.
The Rockies division is accepting players in third to fifth grade. Girls are introduced to pitching in this division and share pitching duties with coaches. Regular games are played with only minor rule changes designed to keep the games moving. Girls play in the field every inning, learning both infield and outfield positions. An umpire is used. Upon submission by parents of a request form, and at the discretion of the coaches, fifth graders who demonstrate advanced ability during evaluations may be moved up to the Majors Division.
The Majors division is accepting players in sixth to ninth grade. With some exceptions, this division uses rules issued by the Amateur Softball
Association of America (ASA.) On defense, there are 10 players (four in the outfield), and each girl plays several innings in the field. All girls bat each time through the batting order. Girls pitch all games subject to limitations on the number of innings pitched. There are also limits on runs per inning, as well as overall game length. Pitchers and catchers will be assigned to teams first. Player and coach requests not guaranteed.

The 2017–2018 Travel Teams were established last fall following August tryouts. Registration Fee: $150 + Team Expenses For more information, visit voorheessoftball.com and Select Travel Team Info (under “pages” menu.)
