Letter to the Editor: A change of voice is needed in Voorhees

Township Committee member Mike Friedman looks forward to more Republicans to help revitalize Voorhees

To theĀ Editor:

I am pleased to enthusiastically support the candidacy of my friends, Carmine Valentino and Ilyse Pinette, for Voorhees Township Committee. After nearly two decades of one party rule in Voorhees, resulting in oppressive taxes and fleeing businesses, Carmine and Ilyse will be able to work with me using each of their unique skillsets to provide the solutions and new ideas that Voorhees desperately needs. Most importantly, Carmine and Ilyse have the integrity, character and temperament to serve as leaders in our community while having no interest in using their roles in government for personalĀ gain.

Carmine and his wife Lindsay are proud residents of Voorhees and lifelong residents of Camden County. Carmine is a Software Engineer of Naval Combat Weapons Systems, helping to provide our men and women in the armed forces with cutting edge technology with which to defend our nation. Carmine is a graduate of Drexel University, and is currently obtaining his Masters of Science in Software Engineering. Carmine is ever-present in the Voorhees community volunteering his time to fight domestic abuse against women and serving his parish, St. Andrews, in variousĀ roles.

Ilyse and her husband David have lived in Voorhees for 14 years and have two children, one who has gone through the entire Voorhees school system and another at Eastern. Ilyse holds a degree in business administration and is currently the owner/operator of Shane Insurance right here in Voorhees. Ilyse has been an active volunteer at Signal Hill and VMS and even became V.P. of the Eastern High School Wrestling Booster Club. Ilyse and her family have also been active members of Congregation Mā€™kor Shalom Synagogue for 13Ā years.

Carmine and Ilyse are running because they strongly believe in giving back to their community. If elected, their loyalty will be to you, the Voorhees resident and taxpayer, not to a political patronage machine. So, on Nov. 6, please join me in voting for Carmine and Ilyse for Voorhees Township Committee!
