Thanks in part to a $3,500 grant from the Investors Bank Foundation and the Roma Bank Community Foundation, the Education Foundation of Tabernacle Township will be able to provide even more opportunities for local students.
The Education Foundation of Tabernacle Township is dedicated to helping find ways to support the schools and students by enabling teachers and staff to develop programming that goes above and beyond what would typically be funded by the school district, state or federal education budgets, according to Foundation President Judy Sailer.
“We are so thankful for the grant money from the Investors Bank and Roma Community Bank Foundations,” said Sailer. “This money will be used to provide training/resources to address literacy; provide more in-school consistent intervention; bridge the gap between home/school; build value; and give exposure to education in the home.”
The Education Foundation of Tabernacle Township applied for the grants from the Investors Bank and Roma Community Bank Foundations, which support non-profit organizations that enrich the diverse communities served by Investors Bank. Roma Bank became part of Investors Bank in December 2013.
In presenting the check, Angela Venti, Investors Bank Assistant Vice President/Marlton Branch Manager said, “Investors Bank understands that teachers often use their own money to purchase items for the classrooms or to provide students with extras. We support the Education Foundation of Tabernacle Township in its efforts to assist those teachers in providing an enriched educational and school experience.”
The Education Foundation of Tabernacle Township comprises parents and grandparents of current and former Tabernacle Elementary and Middle School students. In addition to making the grants to teachers, the Foundation also works to develop supportive community and private sector relationships to benefit the schools.
“The relationship with Investors Bank,” said Sailer, “is one of those we hope will further serve the interests of our town.”
Sailer said the Foundation hopes to act as an ongoing catalyst to support and enhance school improvement programs that benefit or provide greater learning opportunities for the community’s children. She said the Foundation also works to inform the community about the strengths and challenges faced by the school district of Tabernacle Township.
