Thousands in jewelry stolen from elderly Evesham couple’s home in distraction burglary

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On June 20 at 12:30 a.m., the Evesham Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 block of Kenilworth Road for a distraction style burglary to the residence.

Investigation determined two unknown men approached an elderly couple in the driveway of their home. The men claimed that they were installing a fence on an adjoining property and needed assistance in locating the property line.

The elderly couple escorted the two male suspects to the rear of the large property where they pretended to identify property lines.

The males communicated with walkie-talkies with each other and a third suspect who is believed to have entered the couple’s home while the victims were distracted.

After distracting the victims away from the home the two men abruptly left. When the couple made their way back inside of their home they discovered that someone had been in their bedroom and thousands of dollars’ worth of jewelry was missing.

The suspects are described as:

Suspect №1 — Man in his early 40’s, dark eyes, round face, approximately 5’8” and 160lbs.

Suspect №2 — Male that was taller and thinner than the first male.
