Evesham Police arrest robbery suspect when he attempts to retrieve cell-phone from police custody

The following report is on file with the Evesham Police Department:

On June 24 the Evesham Police Department responded to the Sunoco Gas Station, 160 North Route 73 for a robbery.

Investigation determined that a male had attempted to flee the pumps without paying for gas at which time his vehicle struck an employee. The employee was not injured but during the incident the suspect’s cell-phone was left behind.

On June 29 a male arrived at the Evesham Police Department and requested to pick up his “sister’s cell-phone”. The male gave a fictitious name but was quickly identified as the male from the robbery from a selfie background picture on the phone.

Arrested:

A male, age 23, of Pine Hill, was charged with second degree robbery and a disorderly persons offense for theft. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $50,000 full bail.
