Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced today that the Burlington County Animal Shelter will be hosting a free cat and dog adoption weekend from Thursday, May 29, through Sunday, June 1.
“This event will waive all fees for applications submitted this weekend, thanks to the Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter” Garganio said. “This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to adopt a new family member.”
The shelter provides spayed or neutered animals for adoption in hopes of controlling the county’s animal population.
The County Animal Shelter is located on Academy Drive off of Woodlane Road, behind the Burlington County Library in Westampton Township. Hours of operation are noon to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays; noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The shelter is closed on Sundays and holidays.
